Strength, Stillness & Self-Discovery
When I booked No1 Bootcamp in Norfolk, I wasn’t chasing a number on the scales — I was chasing a reset.
After everything my body and mind have been through, I wanted a week that focused on rebuilding from the inside out — strength, nourishment, and self-respect.
Day 1: The Reality Check (and the Wake-Up Call)
I arrived slightly nervous but excited — greeted by the fresh Norfolk air, rolling countryside, and a team of trainers who immediately made me feel welcome.
The first session? Let’s just say… it reminded me how long it had been since I’d truly challenged myself physically!
But instead of punishment or pressure, it was all about encouragement. No1 Bootcamp isn’t “shouty military fitness” — it’s supportive, real, and meets you exactly where you are.
The Training: Grit Meets Growth
Every day included a mix of workouts — HIIT, resistance, boxing, circuits, and those famous coastal hikes (which are as breathtaking as they are leg-burning!).
By day three, I was feeling muscles I forgot existed. By day five, I was starting to like it.
And here’s the twist — I gained 2.5lb of muscle & lost 2% body fat in just 6 days, including a rest day in between.
For me, that was huge. It wasn’t about weight loss. It was about getting stronger, more capable, and proving that even with complex health challenges, you can rebuild when you listen to your body instead of fighting it.
The Food: Nourishment, Not Deprivation
The meals were honestly restaurant-worthy — fresh, balanced, and full of flavour. Think grilled salmon, vibrant salads, healthy treats… and portion sizes that made sense.
No one was starving themselves or obsessing over calories — it was all about fuelling properly to perform and recover.
Rest Days & Recovery
Halfway through, I took a rest day — because for me, recovery isn’t optional. Living with complex health conditions means I’ve learned that pushing through pain isn’t strength — it’s sabotage.
So I listened to my body, took a breather, and came back the next day stronger and steadier.
The People: The Heart of It All
The biggest surprise? The people.
Everyone had a story. Some were there to lose weight, others to rebuild confidence, and a few — like me — just needed to pause life for a while and find themselves again.
By the end of the week, it felt like family.
What I Learned
That wellness isn’t punishment.
That fitness doesn’t need to be loud or aggressive to be powerful.
And that sometimes the biggest progress isn’t physical — it’s mental.
No1 Bootcamp gave me more than stronger legs and a tighter core.
It gave me space to reconnect with myself — the version that’s resilient, determined, and refuses to give up.
So if you’re thinking about booking — do it.
Not just for the body you’ll build, but for the peace you’ll find along the way.
